Rebecca is from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She spent her childhood bossing around her younger brothers, writing overly-earnest poetry, trekking along backyard creeks in search of toads and crayfish, and memorizing lines for community theater productions.

She majored in English at Barnard College and spent a year studying Medieval and Renaissance poetry at St. Peter’s College, Oxford University. She can now recite the prologue of the Canterbury Tales in Middle English and make a great case for why seventeenth-century poet John Donne was the godfather of indie rock.

Rebecca’s love of documentary-style storytelling led her to attend The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism where she focused on arts and culture reporting. After graduating in 2011, she spent time creating videos for The New York Times and audio features for WNYC and WBAI.

She spent five years as the digital producer for Barnard College, the all women’s college associated with Columbia University in New York City. In addition to producing stories and managing freelancers, Rebecca also taught young women multimedia skills.

She recently let her job at Barnard to pursue life as a freelancer and spend time developing GROUP, her podcast about mental health and mental illness distributed through Acast.

When she’s not creating stories, Rebecca likes to spend her time watching YouTube videos of soldiers returning home to their dogs, sampling cheese at the grocery store, checking out stand up comedy in the city, and working toward her goal of becoming a warrior princess.
